Governor of the Falkland Islands and His Majesty's Commissioner for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands since July 2022. Under Chapter V of the Falkland Islands Constitution Order 2008, the Executive Council (ExCo) advises the Governor on the governance of the islands. The Governor is bound by constitutional convention to act in accordance with the advice of ExCo on virtually all matters of internal administration, public health, education, infrastructure, and domestic finance.
ExCo consists of the Governor (presiding), three Members of the Legislative Assembly elected annually by their parliamentary peers, the Chief Executive, and the Financial Secretary. Governor Blake's role represents the Crown as Head of State, while democratic executive decision-making rests firmly with the elected MLAs.

Prior to her appointment as Governor, Alison Blake CMG had a distinguished career in the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), serving as British Ambassador to Afghanistan (2019–2021) and British High Commissioner to Bangladesh (2016–2019). Her appointment reflects the strategic importance of the South Atlantic and the UK's unshakeable commitment to Article 73 of the UN Charter, upholding the sacred trust that the interests of non-self-governing territory inhabitants remain paramount.
